Mitas Bows is a violin shop in North East Portland offering hand made bows, instrument and bow repairs, and sales.

After a decade of working in fine violin shops in New York, Philadelphia and Taipei, restoring rare and valuable bows and violins, Jacob Mitas returned to his hometown of Portland in 2011 to set up his own shop and delve deeper into making.

Mitas focuses his making on crafting bows inspired by his hands-on study of the early French makers. His bows are currently played by a wide array of musicians including students, teachers, fiddlers, concert masters and internationally renowned soloists.
